Kaisariani (Greece)

Located in the eastern part of Athens, Greece, Kaisariani is a historic suburb nestled between the Hymettus and Penteli mountains. Despite its small size, it is densely populated. Kaisariani is renowned for its significant archaeological sites, including the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the ancient cemetery of Kerameikos, which offeri visitors a glimpse into Greece's rich history and cultural heritage.

Kaisariani is currently running 5 different Urban Development Plans:

1. Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan: its central goal is the reduction of energy consumption and pollutant emissions in public buildings (schools, sports grounds, service buildings, etc.)
2. Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan: strategic plan to meet the needs for sustainable mobility of people and the transport of goods within the city, aiming at improving the quality of life for all inhabitants
3. Electric Vehicle Charging Plan: location program for accessible parking spaces and EV recharging points, aiming at developing electric mobility and increasing the use of vehicles with low or zero emissions
4. Operational Plan for Securing Shared and Publicly Useful Spaces: recording of Shared and Publicly Useful Spaces, based on their importance in the wider urban planning of the Municipality
5. Urban Accessibility Plan: identification of the required configurations, interventions, constructions that will allow the formation of accessible linear routes of the transportation network in the city
